Fantastic Voyage

I KNOW. I’VE NEGLECTED MY BLOG DUTIES.

I have no excuse really, other than VID-19 malaise.

But I’m back and excited about adding to the archive here with this gem: Do you remember a cult-ish movie made in 1966 called Fantastic Voyage? It was about a small group of scientists who minimized themselves so they could travel around a man’s body to detect … something. There was a time limit to their minimization so the tension built. My point: the group, which included Raquel Welch, came to the mitochondria, the energy factory in every cell and which I have waxed poetic about in the past. It is here, Miss Welch exclaimed, IT’S OXYGENATING! IT’S OXYGENATING!

Spoiler alert! The scientists got out of the guy’s body before it all explodes.
