The Big Pitcher

Imagine a pyramid. At the peak is the fundamental act of breathing, building down step-by-step toward our ultimate goal: Vibrant Health and Active Longevity.

Here is how the foundational components connect:

Breathing

Drinking H2O+O2

Food+Oxygen=Energy

Vibrant Health and Active Longevity

1. Breathing: The Foundation of Oxygen Intake

Let’s look at the mechanics of a standard resting breath for a young, physically fit male:

  • Inhalation: Approximately 500 mL of air is inhaled with a standard resting breath.

  • Dead Space: About 150 mL remains in the upper airways (trachea, bronchi, bronchioles) where no gas exchange occurs.

  • Alveolar Air: This leaves roughly 350 mL of fresh atmospheric air reaching the respiratory zone.

  • Oxygen Volume: Because atmospheric air is 20.9% oxygen, about 73 mL of O2 enters the alveolar space with each breath.

  • Extraction: Healthy lungs do not absorb all of it; a normal resting cycle typically extracts about 20% to 25%. (Fun fact: The remaining exhaled oxygen is precisely what makes CPR or gently blowing on a nascent fire possible).

Note: This baseline assumes optimal conditions. The actual amount of usable O2 depends heavily on air quality, individual lung health, and overall respiratory fitness.

2. Drinking H2O+O2: Internal Hydration and Delivery

When you take a sip of oxygen-infused water, saliva mixes instantly, triggering a swallow. The water travels down the esophagus into the stomach and quickly moves into the small intestine—an absorption process that can happen in as little as five minutes on an empty stomach.

Tiny blood vessels in the small intestine absorb the water and deliver it directly into your bloodstream, circulating it to your brain, organs, muscles, and cells to provide vital hydration, nutrients, and supplemental oxygen.

The Science Check: Skeptics often claim that “your gut cannot absorb a free gas.” They are right—it can’t. However, the body easily absorbs water that is naturally oxygen-rich, where oxygen is bound within the aqueous solution rather than existing as a free gas.

3. Food + Oxygen = Energy: Fueling the Body

For total body energy, all ingested (or internally produced such as hormones and enzymes) matter must be metabolized or excreted. Every cell requires the right combination of fuel (nutrients) and an oxidant to combust that fuel efficiently—much like a rocket system.

  • Cellular Energy: Every cell requires nutrients and delivered oxygen to maintain immune function, detoxify, perform specialized tissue roles (skin, brain, pancreas, etc.), and reproduce.

  • Anaerobic vs. Aerobic Energy:

    • Anaerobic energy production occurs when cells lack adequate oxygen. The byproduct is lactose, or lactic acid; when lactose is produced in excess, it outpaces the liver and kidneys’ ability to clear it, triggering health breakdowns and fatigue.

    • Aerobic energy occurs when nutrients are fully combusted in the mitochondria with minimal waste. The right nutrients combined with adequate oxygen create the cleanest, most efficient energy possible.

The Core Hypothesis

It is our hypothesis that a majority of the population suffers from disease, overweight/obesity, fatigue, depression, memory issues, and other maladies driven largely by dehydration and/or chronic oxygen debt syndrome.

Supplemental oxygen in drinking water offers a practical solution. The Big Pitcher® safely increases oxygen levels to water’s natural, maximum saturation. As research scientist Dr. John Duncan once noted: “Teri, we do not yet know the algorithms that are at work [with drinking oxygen-rich water], but my results have been statistically significant.”

Vibrant Health and Active Longevity

The two comments we hear most often from our customers are simple, yet transformative:

  • “I drink more water!”

  • “I have more energy!”

At Oxygen Orchard, we are dedicated to serving our customers, delivering a superior product, and educating the public on the vital importance of supplemental oxygen and its impact on global health.
